Centrality determination in heavy ion collision with forward calorimeters of CMS at the LHC

The possibility for centrality determination in heavy ion collision with forward calorimeters (HF, CASTOR) of CMS detector system is analyzed. Methodic is based on correlation between impact parameter and total (transverse) energy flow in forward calorimeters (pseudorapidity range 3.0 < |nu| < 6.7). The possibility for centrality determination using correlation between impact parameter and number of nucleons which have not interacted in collision was also studied. Calculated resolution for centrality determination is above 0.8 fm for all centralitie
